I feel like I should tell you a little bit about who I am and the journey to get here, so you have some context. I’m Muffadal Saylawala, people call me Muffa for short. I was born and raised in Chicago's suburbs, I discovered my love for travel and transformative experiences early in college, and I maintain a steadfast belief in the potential for businesses to drive positive cultural and social change. After exploring over 60 countries, joining the Experience Institute as a founding student, and then spending a transformative decade in Nicaragua building an ecosystem of businesses dedicated to regeneration, I've returned to Chicago to channel these experiences into something truly special: Oro.
Oro is more than a chocolate shop cafe, it's a celebration of life, experiences, community, and the magic of quality bean-to-bar chocolate and in-house roasted coffee. It’s a safe place to gather and create. We have a direct connection from the farmers to the final products, and every stakeholder along the chain wins. Now, we're looking for curious individuals ready to join this adventure and help us make a positive impact in Wicker Park.
